Prograis vs Haney: Battle of Speed

Prograis vs Haney: Battle of Speed

"I think it's going to shock him about my speed, how fast I really am." So says Regis Prograis in an interview on the eve of his highly anticipated pay per view bout against Devin Haney this weekend in San Francisco. Haney is said to be giving up his numerous lightweight world titles in order to move up in weight. Don't expect WBC junior welterweight titlist Prograis to be impressed, however. "I don't respect anything about Devin, the Haney's," he says in the interview. "I don't respect anything about any of those dudes on the other side. We have to fight next week so I don't respect anything about Devin."

Prograis Confident in Upcoming Fight Against Haney

Regis Prograis is not impressed with his opponent, Haney, and believes he won't be able to handle his power. Prograis states, "It's definitely going to be a different story with me." He is confident in his abilities and plans to disable Haney, claiming that his clinching tactics won't work. Prograis feels that Haney has never faced someone like him before and is prepared for a brutal 12 rounds.

This highly anticipated match between Prograis and Haney is one of the year's best pairings. Haney has never lost a fight and is known for his exceptional skills in the ring. Prograis, on the other hand, has only lost once to Josh Taylor in 2019. Since then, he has won five consecutive fights and is considered a tough opponent in the 140-pound weight class. Prograis currently holds the WBC junior welterweight title after defeating Jose Zepeda.

Although Haney is the favorite going into the fight, Prograis believes that Taylor's victory over him indicates a possible weakness. Haney also had a close match with Vasyl Lomachenko, which he won. However, Prograis will be the defending champion on Saturday, as Haney is new to the weight class. The fight in San Francisco is expected to be intriguing.
