"Ryan Garcia I believe wants to come back in March," Oscar De La Hoya said in an interview recently posted by Fight Hub. "I think that's ideal...it could be a big year for Ryan." And one of those figures who might help make 2024 be a big year for Garcia is one Rolly Romero, the current WBA lightweight champion. "He's expressed a lot of interest in fighting Rolly," De La Hoya said of Garcia. "If that's the fight we have to negotiate so be it." After being stopped by Gervonta Davis in 2022, Romero went on to win his WBA title belt by stopping Ismael Barroso earlier this year.

Garcia and De La Hoya Interested in Facing Devin Haney

After his knockout loss to Davis in April, Ryan Garcia has been making a comeback in the boxing ring. He recently knocked out Oscar Durate at the Toyota Center in Houston. Garcia and his promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, have both expressed interest in facing WBC junior welterweight champion Devin Haney. Haney impressed everyone with his win over Regis Prograis last weekend in San Francisco.

Garcia believes he can beat Haney, stating, "Haney is good no doubt, but I know him all too well and I will beat him. Good stuff tonight congrats, but this year we are going to run it!" De La Hoya is also pushing for the fight, saying, "I'm going to push for Ryan Garcia vs Devin Haney, let's go!" Haney himself has expressed interest in the matchup, revealing that he has been after Garcia for years.

Garcia's popularity, social media presence, good looks, and exciting ring style make him a lucrative option for any top fighter in his weight class. Despite his recent defeat, Garcia remains a highly sought-after opponent.

Sure enough, De La Hoya made an announcement on Sunday regarding his fighter Ryan Garcia. He stated that the next big fight for Garcia would be against either Devin Haney or Shakur Stevenson. To gauge the fans' interest, De La Hoya conducted a poll on Monday asking who they would prefer Garcia to face, and Haney emerged as the winner of the poll. It is worth mentioning that there were previous discussions about Garcia potentially fighting Teofimo Lopez, another powerful puncher. Despite his recent loss to Davis, Garcia continues to be recognized as one of the most prominent fighters in the world. His ability to attract attention and generate revenue is something all fighters aspire to achieve.
