Boxing Match: Ebanie Bridges vs Miyo Yoshida
A lot of strange things happen in boxing but it’s doubtful anyone felt IBF bantamweight champion Ebanie Bridges would end up in the fight of her life against a very determined and impressive Miyo Yoshida. Although former world titlist Yoshida was clearly a skilled and disciplined fighter, it was the flashy, steamrolling Bridges who was the center of attention. Although fans likely expected solid punching and action in the fight, it was doubtful many felt it would be Bridges who would end up on the receiving end of things. Right from the opening bell, however, Yoshida was on the attack.
Bridges Falls Short in Title Bout Against Yoshida
In a surprising turn of events, Ebanie Bridges, the 7-1 favorite, was unable to establish her dominance over her opponent, Miyo Yoshida. Yoshida showcased superior speed, accuracy, and overall strength throughout the fight, leaving Bridges struggling to keep up. At times, it seemed as though Bridges might be seriously injured, although she managed to avoid any significant harm. However, there was no denying that Yoshida outperformed Bridges in the ring for the majority of the bout.
Yoshida's relentless determination to bring the fight to the defending champion paid off in the end. Following the tenth and final round, it became clear that Bridges' only hope of victory would come from judicial incompetence or corruption. Ultimately, the judges awarded Yoshida a unanimous decision win, crowning her the new IBF bantamweight champion.
