It seems that Deontay Wilder's unexpected loss to Joseph Parker in Saudi Arabia last December may have been just the wake-up call the towering Alabaman needed to reignite his career. Initially, many wrote off Wilder as a top heavyweight after his defeat to Parker, a fight he was expected to win. But as is often the case in boxing, the unexpected can happen. Following the announcement of Wilder's upcoming bout against the popular and powerful Zhilei Zhang on June 1st, there are now reports circulating that Wilder could also be squaring off against the undefeated Jared Anderson on August 3rd.

Heavyweight Battle Ahead

Wilder is set to face off against Anderson in an upcoming match. Anderson, undefeated so far and rarely going the distance in his fights, poses a tough challenge for the former WBC heavyweight champion. If Wilder manages to defeat both opponents, he will surely strengthen his case for another shot at a heavyweight title, despite losing it to Tyson Fury in the past. Fury has bested Wilder in two out of their three encounters, with the first match ending in a draw. On the other hand, a victory over Wilder would greatly elevate Zhang's status in the heavyweight division as he aims for the top spots. The same goes for Anderson, who will be looking to make a statement with a win.

Speculations are rife about a potential showdown between Wilder and Anderson in the near future. The Saudi official Turki Alalshikh, known for his involvement in the boxing scene, has expressed his desire to see the two fighters go head-to-head before the end of summer. However, Alalshikh has emphasized that this matchup will only take place if Anderson is prepared post his June 1 fight against Zhilei Zhang. Alalshikh's track record suggests that he has the capability to turn this idea into reality.
