Former titlist Callum Smith takes on champion Artur Beterbiev
On Saturday night, former titlist Callum Smith faced off against the reigning WBC, IBF, and WBO light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev in a highly anticipated match. The fight, which was broadcasted on ESPN, served as the main event and was scheduled for 12 rounds.

Although he managed to get back up, a second flurry from Beterbiev put him down again, prompting trainer Buddy McGirt to intervene and end the fight.
Beterbiev, who remains undefeated, humbly attributed his success to luck. However, interviewer Bernard Osuna disagreed, recognizing the champion's undeniable talent and skill.
Artur Beterbiev expressed his desire for a fourth belt in the light heavyweight division. When asked about the possibility of going for the WBA title, Beterbiev stated that it would make him the undisputed champion if he were to win it. The current holder of the WBA belt is Dmitry Bivol, who defeated Canelo Alvarez. If a fight between Beterbiev and Bivol were to happen, it would be significant news in the boxing world. Beterbiev's promoter, Bob Arum, mentioned in a post-fight interview that he believes the match can be arranged and could take place in Saudi Arabia. Bivol is known for his discipline and exceptional skills, making the prospect of a future showdown between him and Beterbiev highly enticing.
