Terence Crawford: Love Him or Hate Him

"Hate it or love it I’m just that guy," welterweight conqueror Terence Crawford stated in a lengthy thread on Twitter Wednesday. "Anytime a fighter opens they mouth my name in it, so what does that tell you?"

Since becoming the undisputed welterweight champion of the world late last summer, Crawford has still faced criticism from some on the internet and beyond. In a recent Twitter thread, he addressed various arguments and assertions made about and/or against him.

"I wish I could fight more than 1 time a year," he wrote. "But these guys have been running and hiding for years. Boxing is nothing like it used to be when everyone fought each other... I live in the gym. But my whole career, these fighters have been running behind people, saying I’m on the wrong side of the street, call this guy, call that guy! Make it make sense."

Terence Crawford, the renowned fighter known as "Bud," recently spoke out about his rise to the top of the boxing world. He emphasized the importance of hard work and sacrifice, stating that he never turned down a fight in his life, regardless of the circumstances. Whether it was a last-minute notice or moving up in weight, Crawford faced opponents of all types - short, tall, strong, fast, boxers, brawlers, and more.

In response to Errol Spence's eye issue, Crawford mentioned that boxers get their eyes checked before every fight, and it is common knowledge among the boxing community. He dismissed any claims made by casual fans.

Crawford then turned his attention to potential competitors Jaron Ennis and Teofimo Lopez. He questioned Ennis' reluctance to fight him, highlighting that Ennis had two opportunities to face him but did not take them. Crawford also advised Lopez to focus on the fighters in his own weight class, as he has other problems to deal with.

Additionally, Crawford revealed that he, like Lopez and Spence, has medical issues and requires three surgeries. He addressed the notion of being handicapped and questioned whether his condition should be considered a hindrance.
