New York City Mayor's Top Fundraiser Reassigned
New York City Mayor Eric Adams has announced that his top fundraiser, Brianna Suggs, has been reassigned. Suggs, who is 25 years old, is no longer raising money for Adams' re-election bid. Adams stated in a news conference on Tuesday that Suggs is still with the campaign but has transitioned to another role. The mayor did not provide further details regarding the reassignment.
The news comes after Suggs' home in Brooklyn was raided by the FBI on November 2. The raid was part of an investigation into whether the Adams campaign received illegal donations from Turkey. In addition to Suggs' home, the FBI also searched the homes of two other individuals connected to the mayor. These individuals were identified as former Turkish Airlines executive Cenk Ocal, who served on Adams' transition team, and Rana Abbasova, who worked in the Mayor's Office for International Affairs.
During the investigation, the FBI briefly seized the mayor's two iPhones and an iPad. The extent of their involvement in the investigation has not been disclosed.
