Nebraska Woman Bags Big Buck and an Engagement Ring

A Nebraska woman had an unforgettable deer hunting trip earlier this month when she not only bagged a big buck but also received a marriage proposal.

Samantha Camenzind, a 28-year-old from Omaha, was given the first shot at the deer they had spotted on a trail camera south of Lincoln by her boyfriend, Cole Bures. However, what she didn't expect was for Bures to surprise her with a marriage proposal in the middle of a photo shoot with the prized trophy - a giant buck with 11 tines on one side of its antlers and nine on the other.

"Everybody has been saying they would marry him, too, if he let them shoot this big of a deer," Camenzind told the Omaha World-Herald.

The couple, who have been dating for three years, share a love of hunting and often bond over their shared hobby. They also process and eat the meat of the animals they kill.

Cole Bures, 32, from Filley, Nebraska, expressed his excitement for Camenzind's successful shot, stating, "I was just as excited as she was when she got it."

Then Bures had a special request for Camenzind - he wanted to capture the big moment with professional photographs. During the photo session, Bures surprised Camenzind by getting down on one knee and asking her to marry him. The photographer was able to capture the exact moment she said yes.

Bures revealed that he got the idea from a friend who had proposed during a hunting trip in Alaska.

Their friends were astonished when they saw the photos.

"I'm not sure if our friends were more surprised by our engagement or the size of the deer," Camenzind joked.

The couple is considering a wedding date in the fall, but Camenzind made it clear that it won't be during hunting season.
