New Hampshire State Hospital Shooting

The New Hampshire State Hospital in Concord was the scene of a tragic shooting incident that resulted in the death of a security officer. The suspect has been identified as 33-year-old John Madore, who was recently homeless and had been staying at a hotel on the Seacoast and then in Concord.

Following the shooting, law enforcement discovered a U-Haul truck parked in the hospital's parking lot. The truck was inspected by the bomb squad, who determined that it did not pose a threat to public safety. Inside the truck, authorities found an AR-style rifle, a tactical vest, and several rounds of ammunition. It is yet to be confirmed if these items are connected to Madore.

Security Officer Killed in Shooting at New Hampshire Hospital

Authorities have identified the security officer killed in a shooting at a New Hampshire hospital as Bradley Haas, a 63-year-old veteran of the Franklin Police Department. Haas, who served as the department's former chief, was shot during the incident.

According to reports, a state trooper assigned to the hospital immediately responded to the shooting and shot and killed the suspect, identified as Madore. The trooper's identity will not be released until an investigation is completed.

No further details were provided regarding the other individuals present in the hospital lobby at the time of the shooting.

Autopsies for both Madore and Haas are scheduled to take place on Saturday.

"Make no mistake, if not for the heroics and sacrifice of Bradley Haas, the bravery of the New Hampshire Hospital staff, the unflinching response of New Hampshire State Police, this tragedy could have been much, much worse," said Gov. Chris Sununu. "New Hampshire owes a debt of gratitude to them all."
