Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter Enters Hospice Care

Former first lady Rosalynn Carter has entered hospice care at home, according to a statement released by The Carter Center. The Carters' grandson, Jason Carter, spoke on behalf of the family, saying that Rosalynn Carter and her husband, former President Jimmy Carter, are spending time with each other and their family during this time. The family has requested privacy and expressed gratitude for the love and support they have received.

In May, The Carter Center announced that Rosalynn Carter, who is 96 years old, has been diagnosed with dementia. The exact timing of the diagnosis is unknown.

Former President Jimmy Carter has been in hospice care at their home since February. He recently celebrated his 99th birthday.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
