Funeral Held for Israeli Soldier Taken Hostage by Hamas
A funeral was held on Friday in Israel for Noa Marciano, a 19-year-old Israeli soldier who was taken hostage by Hamas on October 7. Her body was found near the Al-Shifa hospital complex in Gaza this week, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The IDF also reported that the body of another hostage, 65-year-old Yehudit Weiss, was discovered near Al-Shifa on Thursday.
The IDF released a statement on Friday, declaring that the national task at hand is to locate the missing and bring the abducted individuals back home. They emphasized that they will not cease from this mission until it is completed.
The IDF stated that they were able to locate the exact location of Noa Marciano's body through targeted intelligence.
According to the IDF, Al-Shifa, which is Gaza's largest hospital, is believed to house a main Hamas command center. The United States has also claimed to possess intelligence supporting Israel's allegations.
On Thursday, Israel released photos and video clips showcasing what they described as Hamas "terror infrastructure" inside the Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City. The images revealed an "operational tunnel shaft," as well as weapons and ammunition.
