Dex Carvey, the son of comedian Dana Cravey, passed away at the age of 32 due to an accidental overdose, as announced by his family.
In a joint statement, Dana Carvey and his wife, Paula Zwagerman, expressed their sorrow and highlighted Dex's many talents and passions. They mentioned his proficiency in music, art, filmmaking, and comedy, which he pursued with great dedication.
Similar to his father, Dex Carvey was also a comedian and actor. In 2018, he even had the opportunity to open for his father during a standup show, according to Entertainment Tonight.
"Dex had an incredible zest for life, and his infectious energy made every moment enjoyable," his parents wrote. "Above all, he cherished his family, friends, and his girlfriend, Kaylee."
Dex Carvey was the eldest of Dana Carvey and Zwagerman's two children. They also have another son, Thomas Carvey, who is 30 years old.
In their statement, Dana Carvey and Zwagerman extended their support and prayers to those struggling with addiction or loving someone who battles addiction.
