Sean "Diddy" Combs Sued by Cassie for Alleged Abuse
Rapper and record executive Sean "Diddy" Combs is facing a lawsuit filed by singer Cassandra Ventura, professionally known as Cassie, in federal court in New York City. Cassie accuses Combs of rape, physical abuse, and sex trafficking throughout their ten-year relationship.
The complaint portrays Combs as a "vicious, cruel, and controlling man" who had complete dominance over Cassie's personal and professional life. It outlines the alleged abuse that she endured after meeting Combs in 2005, when she was only 19 years old.
In a statement to CBS News, Cassie expressed her decision to break her silence after years of suffering. She said, "After years in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships. With the expiration of New York's Adult Survivors Act fast approaching, it became clear that this was an opportunity to speak up about the trauma I have experienced and that I will be recovering from for the rest of my life."
Suit Alleges Multiple Abuses by Rapper
A recent lawsuit has made several disturbing allegations against rapper Combs, also known as P. Diddy. The suit claims that Combs raped a woman named Ventura in her own home after she attempted to leave him. It also accuses him of physically assaulting her on multiple occasions, resulting in severe injuries such as bruises, burst lips, black eyes, and bleeding.
Furthermore, the lawsuit claims that in 2012, Combs became enraged when he discovered that rapper Kid Cudi had romantic feelings for Ventura. Allegedly, as a result of this, Combs blew up Kid Cudi's car.
The suit goes on to state that Combs forced Ventura to engage in sexual acts with male escorts while he filmed the encounters and masturbated. It is also claimed that he intimidated Ventura by demanding that she carry a firearm for him. Additionally, the lawsuit alleges that Combs introduced Ventura to a lifestyle of excessive alcohol and substance abuse and required her to obtain illicit prescriptions to satisfy his addictions.
Combs has denied all of these allegations. His attorney, Ben Brafman, stated that Ventura attempted to blackmail Combs for $30 million. Brafman called the allegations "offensive and outrageous" and accused Ventura of seeking a payday by tarnishing Combs' reputation.
In response to Brafman's statement, Ventura's attorney, Douglas Wigdor, claimed that Combs had offered his client money in exchange for her silence, but she declined.
Woman Rejects Offer to Silence Her
A woman, identified as Ms. Ventura, has rejected a significant financial offer from Mr. Combs in an attempt to prevent her from filing a lawsuit, according to a statement made to CBS News. Mr. Combs allegedly offered her a substantial amount of money, known as eight figures, in order to keep her silent.
However, Ms. Ventura decided to decline the offer and instead chose to give a voice to all women who suffer in silence. Her bravery in standing up against attempts to silence her should be applauded, according to the statement.
