McDonald's and Crocs have announced a partnership to create a line of footwear inspired by the fast-food chain's branding and beloved mascots. The collection will include clogs, sandals, charms, and socks featuring characters such as Grimace and Hamburglar. The shoes will be priced between $70 and $75 per pair.
Starting on Tuesday, customers will have the opportunity to purchase four different styles of shoes: a classic red McDonald's clog, a black-and-white Hamburglar clog, a yellow Birdie clog, and a purple Grimace sandal. The announcement was made by McDonald's in a statement on Monday.
In addition to the unique footwear, McDonald's fans will also have the option to buy $20 matching socks featuring the faces of the iconic characters. The shoes can be further personalized with Jibbitz charms inspired by McDonald's menu items like Big Macs, fries, and Chicken McNuggets, as well as clip-ons resembling the company's golden arches.
The shoes will be available for purchase online, at Crocs stores, and through wholesale partners starting on Tuesday afternoon, according to McDonald's.
This collaboration is not the first time McDonald's has utilized its mascots to drive sales. In June, the company launched a successful viral campaign to promote its Grimace-branded milkshake, which quickly gained popularity on TikTok and generated millions of mentions across various social media platforms, as reported by the trade publication Restaurant Business.
McDonald's has expanded its brand presence beyond fast food by venturing into the world of fashion. In a recent collaboration, the fast food giant partnered with the popular British skate brand PALACE to create a line of branded apparel. This collaboration showcases McDonald's ability to tap into different industries and connect with a diverse range of consumers.
