"Wizards" - The Magical Sequel to "Wizards of Waverly Place"
Exciting news for fans of the hit TV show "Wizards of Waverly Place"! The magical sibling duo, Alex and Justin Russo, will be making a triumphant return to television in the pilot episode of the show's highly anticipated sequel, titled "Wizards".
Disney Branded Television has confirmed that Selena Gomez and David Henrie, who portrayed Alex and Justin respectively in the original series that debuted back in 2007, will be serving as executive producers for the pilot episode.
In addition to their roles behind the scenes, Gomez will also be making a special guest appearance in the pilot, while Henrie will be reprising his beloved character, Justin, on a regular basis. The cast of "Wizards" will also introduce new characters to the enchanting world of Waverly Place, including Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele, and Mimi Gianopulos.
The magical sequel will follow the captivating story of Justin, who decides to leave his job at WizTech and abandon his magical powers in order to lead a normal life with his family. However, everything changes when a young and powerful wizard arrives at his doorstep, seeking guidance and training. In order to ensure the future of the Wizard World, Justin must confront his past and embrace his true destiny.
The pilot episode of "Wizards" is written by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, the talented duo behind the successful reboot of "That's So Raven". Their creative vision promises to bring back the same level of enchantment and excitement that made "Wizards of Waverly Place" a beloved series amongst fans of all ages.
Disney Channel and Henrie also teased the announcement, sharing a sneak peek of the pilot script cover on Instagram.
