Dead School Teacher Found in Burnt Car in Quartz Hill Home
Firefighters made a gruesome discovery on Wednesday when they found the body of a school teacher stuffed in the trunk of a car inside a home in Quartz Hill. The charred remains of the vehicle were found after firefighters responded to a fire at the residence.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the body was found in the 41400 block of 38th West Street in Quartz Hill at around 8:20 a.m. The discovery was made after neighbors reported hearing a woman screaming and an explosion before the fire broke out.
KCAL News interviewed a man who claimed to be the uncle of the deceased school teacher. While he chose not to disclose her identity, he described her as a quiet 27-year-old woman from Quartz Hill who worked as an elementary school teacher in Palmdale. The school had contacted her family after she failed to show up for work.
The uncle mentioned that his niece had been in a romantic relationship for about a year, but he didn't have much information about the man she was involved with. Neighbors informed investigators that the boyfriend owned the home and rented out rooms to multiple individuals. The homeowner is currently missing and has not been in contact with authorities.
