Bronny James Makes College Basketball Debut After Cardiac Arrest

Bronny James, son of NBA superstar LeBron James, made his first appearance as a college basketball player on Sunday. The 19-year-old freshman guard took to the court for the University of Southern California Trojans, with his father watching from the stands. This game marked Bronny's return to basketball less than five months after he suffered a cardiac arrest during a practice in July.

Unfortunately, James' team was defeated by the visiting Long Beach State, with a final score of 84-79. However, the outcome did not dampen the significance of Bronny's comeback.

In May, Bronny announced his decision to join USC. However, his plans were put on hold due to his cardiac arrest. Following the incident, he received treatment at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles and was subsequently sent home to rest, as advised by his cardiologist. It was later discovered that Bronny had a congenital heart defect.

LeBron James, proud father and basketball icon, expressed his gratitude for the support received during this challenging time. He took to social media to share an update, stating, "Everyone doing great. We have our family together, safe and healthy, and we feel your love."

After undergoing a thorough evaluation by medical professionals, Bronny was given the green light to return to basketball at the end of November. The James family expressed their appreciation for the medical team, the USC community, and all their loved ones who stood by them throughout the recovery process.

Yesterday's highly anticipated game had a crowd full of familiar faces. LeBron James, who was crowned the NBA In-Season Tournament MVP the previous night, was in attendance to witness his son's debut, along with other members of his family.

"It's going to be an incredible weekend for me. Not only did I win the In-Season Tournament and earn some extra cash, but I also get to watch my son play tomorrow at the Galen Center," expressed LeBron James.
