Washington — The Georgia Court of Appeals on Wednesday announced that it would be reviewing a decision made by a Fulton County Superior Court judge regarding District Attorney Fani Willis and her office's involvement in the 2020 election case against former President Donald Trump. This decision came after the judge refused to disqualify Willis and her team due to a personal relationship she had with one of the prosecutors.
According to a post on social media by Steve Sadow, who is representing Trump in the Fulton County case, the court has agreed to hear Trump's appeal against Judge Scott McAfee's ruling that allowed Willis to stay on as the prosecutor for the case. However, McAfee did require Nathan Wade, a special prosecutor who was romantically linked to Willis, to step down from the case. Wade subsequently resigned following the judge's decision.
Trump's request for the Georgia Court of Appeals to consider his appeal was granted, as confirmed by a brief order issued by the court.
