Food Recall Alert: Planters Peanuts and Mixed Nuts

Hormel Foods has issued a recall for two Planters products - peanuts and mixed nuts - that were shipped to Dollar Tree and Publix warehouses in five states due to potential listeria contamination.

The affected products, produced at a Hormel facility in April, include 4-ounce packages of Planters Honey Roasted Peanuts and 8.75-ounce cans of Planters Delux Lightly Salted Mixed Nuts.

Listeria is a harmful organism that can lead to severe infections, especially in vulnerable individuals. Symptoms may include high fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.

The recalled products were distributed to Dollar Tree centers in Georgia and South Carolina, as well as Publix warehouses in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina.

If you have the recalled peanuts, check for a "Best if used by" date of April 11, 2025, and a UPC code of 2900002097. For the mixed nuts, look for a "Best if used by" date of April 5, 2026, and a PPC code of 2900001621.

Customers who have bought the affected items are advised to either dispose of them or return them to the store where they were originally purchased for a replacement.
