NEW YORK -- Reports emerged on Saturday about a series of bomb threats targeting synagogues across New York City.
According to the New York City Police Department, multiple bomb threats were directed at synagogues on Saturday.
Police confirmed at least four bomb threats in Manhattan, with targets including Congregation Rodeph Sholom on the Upper East Side and Chabad of Midtown on Fifth Avenue.
Authorities have stated that all the bomb threats made so far have been deemed unfounded. The method through which the threats were communicated remains unclear.
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul took to social media to address the situation, stating, "We are actively monitoring a number of bomb threats at synagogues in New York. Threats have been determined not to be credible, but we will not tolerate individuals sowing fear & antisemitism. Those responsible must be held accountable for their despicable actions."
