Walmart is introducing a new store label called Bettergoods, targeting younger customers who prioritize affordability and gourmet foods over brand loyalty.
The retail giant announced on Tuesday the launch of 300 new products under the Bettergoods brand, marking its largest private brand food release in two decades.
Among the upscale offerings are premium bronze-cut pasta from Italy priced at $1.97 per package and plant-based mozzarella for less than $4. This move comes as more consumers turn to store brands to combat food inflation and save on costs.
"Today's customers are looking for high-quality yet affordable products to enhance their culinary experiences," said Scott Morris, senior vice president of private brands for food and consumables at Walmart.
