New Delhi — Shocking news has emerged from the southern state of Karnataka in India, as Prajwal Revanna, a member of parliament, has fled the country amidst disturbing allegations. It is alleged that Revanna sexually assaulted multiple women over the past few years and recorded these heinous acts on his phone.
According to reports, a fellow politician from an allied party came forward claiming to have received a USB drive containing the explicit videos. Some of these videos have since surfaced online. The accuser has pointed fingers at Revanna, accusing him of using these recordings to manipulate and coerce women into maintaining sexual relationships with him.
Notably, Prajwal Revanna is the grandson of former Indian Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda. He currently serves as a Member of Parliament for the Janata Dal Secular Party (JDS), which is in alliance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).
Despite the scandal, Revanna is vying for re-election in the ongoing general elections, which commenced last week. India's national election is being conducted in phases over approximately seven weeks and is anticipated to be the largest election ever held worldwide, with nearly 1 billion eligible voters.
The distressing video clips allegedly involving the 33-year-old politician surfaced online just days before the polls opened in Revanna's constituency, causing shockwaves throughout the nation.
Allegations of Sexual Assault and Harassment Against Politician in Karnataka
Amidst a scandal rocking Karnataka politics, Revanna has vehemently denied the allegations of sexual assault against him. He has gone as far as filing a police complaint claiming that the incriminating videos circulating online have been manipulated.
In a shocking turn of events, two women came forward on a local news outlet, Power TV, accusing Prajwal, Revanna's son, of sexual assault.
Adding to the gravity of the situation, a 47-year-old woman, who had been employed at the politician's residence, has lodged a police complaint alleging that she was also a victim of sexual abuse by Revanna on multiple occasions between 2019 and 2022. She further revealed that she was once sexually assaulted by Revanna's father, HD Revanna.
Moreover, the same woman has accused the younger politician of engaging in inappropriate behavior during a video call with her daughter, as reported by Indian media.
Following these serious allegations, the Karnataka police have taken action by registering a case against Revanna. The charges leveled against him include sexual harassment, intimidation, and outraging the dignity of a woman. In response, the state government has set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the matter.
In a public statement, Prajwal's father, the leader of the JDS party, who is also implicated in the police complaint, stated that his son is currently out of the country. However, he assured journalists that Prajwal would return to India whenever necessary for the investigation.

A recent scandal has rocked the political landscape in India, with a local BJP leader, Devaraje Gowda, making shocking claims about explicit videos of women. Gowda reportedly warned BJP leaders in Karnataka state a year ago about aligning with JDS after receiving a "pen drive" containing 2,976 such videos.
The controversy has led to the prime minister's party attempting to distance itself from the situation, while the main opposition party, Congress, has held a protest in Bengaluru questioning the ruling BJP's decision to ally with JDS despite knowledge of the videos.
Amidst the turmoil, Congress leader Pawan Khera took to social media to criticize the PM for campaigning with Prajwal Revanna, allegedly involved in the scandal. Khera questioned why the PM would support someone linked to such serious allegations.
