In a surreal moment, rising country star Brittney Spencer found herself listening to her own voice on the track "BLACKBIIRD" featured on Beyoncé's latest album, "Cowboy Carter."

As she reminisced about the experience, Spencer shared that she was surrounded by friends in her apartment when she first heard the song.

"I just kind of like just dropped to the floor and just sat there for awhile," she recalled. "We played 'BLACKBIIRD' a few times, and I was like, 'This is wild, I can't believe it.' I kept looking at my phone like, 'is this actually the Beyonce album?'"

The significance of the song was further underscored by praise from music legend Paul McCartney, who described the recording as "magnificent" and lauded its continuation of the civil rights message he originally intended with The Beatles' "BLACKBIIRD" in 1968.

"It means everything. The Beatles is my second favorite band of all time," Spencer shared, noting that her top favorite is The Chicks.

The collaborative experience resulted in a special connection among the artists involved in the project. The women who contributed to the creation of "BLACKBIIRD" decided to commemorate their teamwork with matching tattoos. Each artist selected a design that held personal significance, with Spencer choosing a tattoo that complements her existing ink, featuring a songbird adorned with headphones.

Spencer mentioned that the song has stirred up deep emotions for some individuals.

"This song carries a message of hope and healing for many, and I believe it's important to pay tribute to our heroes and those who are still with us," she expressed.

Following the collaboration, Spencer's career has taken off, leading her to perform at the CMT Awards. This achievement marks a significant milestone from her previous job as an airport barista.

"My goal is to push the boundaries of my musical career," she shared. "However, as I delve deeper into this journey, I find myself less focused on the outcomes and more on my identity. I consider myself an artist, driven by the desire to create, and I am grateful that my profession allows me to thrive in this artistic realm."
