Nelly and Ashanti announce engagement and pregnancy
After first dating in 2003, musical artists Nelly and Ashanti have announced that they are engaged and expecting their first child together. Fans were delighted when the couple rekindled their relationship in 2023.
Essence magazine shared the exciting news on social media, congratulating the couple on their engagement and pregnancy. Ashanti, 43, expressed her gratitude for the blessings of love, hope, and anticipation that this year has brought.
"Motherhood is something that I have looked forward to, and sharing this with my family, fiancé, and loyal fans, who have been so supportive of my career, is an amazing experience," said the Grammy winner.
In a video announcement, Nelly and Ashanti also revealed the news with the help of Proov, a company that provides at-home fertility tests and which the couple co-own.

In 2022, the duo reunited to perform their track "Body on Me" together at a concert in Arizona. Ashanti expressed her surprise on Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live" at the level of interest people had in their relationship.
