Following a network programming timing error, CBS has announced that it will be re-airing Billy Joel's 100th consecutive performance at Madison Square Garden, which was cut short for some viewers on Sunday.

During the original broadcast, Joel was in the middle of singing "Piano Man" when local news segments began airing in certain parts of the country.

"Due to the overwhelming demand from his legion of fans," CBS stated that Joel's full performance, recorded on March 28, will be broadcast again on April 19 at 9 p.m. ET. In addition, fans can also stream Joel's performance on Paramount+.

"A network programming timing error ended last night's Billy Joel special approximately two minutes early in the Eastern and Central Time Zones," explained Julie Holland, CBS's Vice President of Communications, in a statement. "We apologize to Mr. Joel, his fans, our affiliated stations, and our audience whose viewing experience was interrupted during the last song."

During the performance, Joel showcased some of his biggest hits, such as "New York State of Mind" and his latest single "Turn the Lights Back On." The concert also featured a special appearance by Sting, who joined Joel on stage to perform "Big Man on Mulberry Street." Additionally, Jerry Seinfeld made a guest appearance alongside Joel.

The broadcast of Sunday's special was delayed due to the 2024 Masters Tournament.

The legendary performer sets a new record at Madison Square Garden

With numerous sold-out shows under his belt, the singer has made history by performing at Madison Square Garden more times than any other artist. Fans have flocked to see him take the stage at the iconic venue, and he has announced that his upcoming performance in July 2024 will be his final show at the legendary arena.
