Gymnast Morgan Price made history by becoming the first athlete from a historically Black college or university team to secure a national collegiate championship on Friday.

The talented Fisk University student clinched the title with an impressive all-around score of 39.225, earning her the prestigious title of "the first USAG Collegiate National Champion from an HBCU!" as announced by USA Gymnastics. Price was among the competitors from 12 college teams who participated in the USA Gymnastics' 2024 Women's Collegiate National Championships held in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Price joined Fisk University's groundbreaking HCBU intercollegiate team in 2023 after completing high school. Her journey began when she signed on to be part of the inaugural team.

Since its establishment, the gymnastics team at Fisk University has attracted significant media attention, competed on ESPN, and even sold out meets.

"I have learned that it is enjoyable to be around your culture. Since we are the first, we have a lot of eyes on us, and our support system is excellent. Seeing the fans and little girls cheering us on was super fun," Price expressed in 2023.

After a stunning performance, Price's team took to social media to share their excitement, declaring, "THE PRICE IS RIGHT. Etch her name in the HISTORY BOOKS."

Price is set to compete in the Individual Event finals on vault, bars, and floor this coming Sunday.
