Norfolk Southern to Pay $600 Million in Settlement for Ohio Train Derailment

Norfolk Southern has reached a $600 million settlement in a class-action lawsuit stemming from a fiery train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio last year.

The company announced on Tuesday that the agreement, pending court approval, will address all class action claims within a 20-mile radius of the derailment. Additionally, residents within a 10-mile radius who opt to participate will be able to file personal injury claims.
