NEW YORK

Actor Jonathan Majors has been sentenced to one year of domestic violence counseling following his conviction for harassing and assaulting his ex-girlfriend in New York City.

The judge has also issued a full protective order for Majors' ex, Grace Jabbari, during Monday's sentencing. If Majors violates any terms of the sentencing, he could face a year in jail.

Majors was found guilty of misdemeanor assault and harassment in December 2023. The jury determined that Majors recklessly, though not intentionally, injured Jabbari and harassed her during an altercation in Lower Manhattan that led to his arrest in March.

Prosecutors presented evidence during the trial that Majors assaulted Jabbari after she discovered a romantic text from another woman on his phone.

Jurors were shown photos of Jabbari's broken finger and lacerated ear, injuries confirmed by doctors to be caused by Majors in an attempt to retrieve his phone.

The defense contended that Jabbari was the instigator, stating, "The only thing that broke in the back of the SUV was Grace's heart." Majors was present at the trial but did not testify.

Actor Majors, aged 34, has gained recognition for his performances in "Creed III" and the Marvel film "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania." However, in light of recent events, Marvel Studios has decided to sever ties with him.
