Washington — Former President Donald Trump's campaign announced a staggering $50.5 million was raised during a high-profile event in Florida over the weekend. This substantial sum comes as the campaign strives to narrow the fundraising gap with the Biden campaign and bolster its financial resources.

A joint statement from RNC Chairman Michael Whatley and co-chair Lara Trump hailed the event's "success" as a testament to the growing dissatisfaction with President Biden's track record. They highlighted concerns ranging from the surge in illegal immigration and soaring inflation to the escalating crisis of migrant-related crime, emphasizing a widespread discontent among Americans.

The proceeds from the fundraiser are anticipated to be divided among the Trump campaign, the Republican National Committee, various state Republican parties, and the Save America PAC, which aids in covering the former president's legal expenses.

Reports from the Biden campaign reveal a staggering achievement in March, with donations exceeding $90 million. This amount surpasses Trump's fundraising efforts by $25 million for the same period. Mr. Biden intensified his campaign activities in March, journeying to key battleground states post his State of the Union address. A private fundraiser in New York City, graced by former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, generated over $26 million in just one evening, according to his campaign.

However, the Trump campaign celebrated their figures on Saturday night, asserting dominance over the Democrats' endeavors.

Campaign spokesperson Danielle Alvarez stated, "It took three Democrat presidents to raise $25 million, while one president alone raised over $50 million, Donald J. Trump."

Prior to the night's end, Trump himself highlighted the anticipated surge in fundraising, labeling it the "biggest night" for fundraising to date, and predicting it would outshine the recent Biden fundraising event.

At a lavish dinner in Palm Beach, Florida, hosted by prominent investor John Paulson, the former president delivered a powerful speech emphasizing the importance of regaining control of the White House. He vowed to lead the country to new heights, promising to make it "bigger, better, and stronger than ever before," as confirmed by a senior campaign official. The event also featured speeches from North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, among other notable figures.
