A candy company based in Minnesota has issued a nationwide recall for a product due to mislabeled boxes that do not list nuts as an ingredient, posing a significant health risk to individuals with allergies.

Abdallah Candies, known for their chocolate, caramels, and candy, is recalling 8-ounce boxes of "sea salt almond alligators" with the code 0315 located on the bottom of the box. The recall was announced in a notice posted by the Food and Drug Administration.

"People with an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds are at risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products," the recall warns.

The affected candy was distributed nationwide and was available for purchase in specialty retail stores, grocery shops, and other retail outlets from March 1, 2024, to March 29, 2024. Consumers who have purchased the recalled product are advised to either dispose of it or return it to the place of purchase.

If consumers have any questions, they can contact Abdallah Candies during business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Central time, at (952) 890-4770 or (800) 348-7328.
