Shooting Incident in Falls Township, Pennsylvania
Emergency notifications were sent out to residents of Falls Township, Pennsylvania, instructing them to shelter-in-place following a series of shootings on Saturday morning, according to local authorities.
Local police reported that there have been multiple shootings in Falls Township, resulting in several victims.
"There are several gunshot victims and it is currently unclear whether they were targeted or if the shootings were random," a statement on the Middletown Township police's Facebook page read. "MTPD is keeping a close watch on traffic and borders, and it appears that the shooter has not entered our township limits."
Representative Brian Fitzpatrick stated that law enforcement is actively pursuing a suspect and investigating a carjacking believed to be connected to the individual.
A dispatcher in Bucks County confirmed that a shelter-in-place order was in effect, and the Bucks County District Attorney's office advised residents to remain indoors.
Local Businesses Impacted by Ongoing Investigation
The ongoing investigation in Middletown Township has resulted in the closure of Sesame Place and the Oxford Valley Mall until further notice as directed by the local police. Additionally, the Target store in the town has voluntarily chosen to close at this time.
State Sen. Steve Santarsiero announced on Facebook that the Bucks County St. Patrick's Day parade has been canceled due to the incident.
