Republican Candidates Descend Upon New Hampshire

ATKINSON, NH - Republican presidential candidates Donald Trump, Nikki Haley, and Ron DeSantis made their way to New Hampshire just one week before the highly anticipated first-in-the-nation primary. On Tuesday night, all three candidates held events across the state, hoping to secure support from New Hampshire voters.

After a resounding victory in the sub-freezing state of Iowa on Monday night, Trump's loyal supporters braved the harsh weather conditions, waiting in a long line outside of Atkinson Country Club. Their dedication and enthusiasm were evident as they eagerly awaited the opportunity to hear the former president speak.

WBZ had the chance to speak with Trump's press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, who expressed admiration for Trump's unwavering determination. "He possesses a level of tenacity that is unmatched by any other candidate. This quality is truly inspiring for those who have felt neglected by the political establishment," Leavitt stated.

While DeSantis and Haley may compete for second place, Leavitt emphasized the importance of rallying behind the eventual nominee. "It is crystal clear, and has been for months, that the only true nominee is President Trump," she asserted.

The polls conducted thus far seem to support this claim. According to Real Clear Politics, Trump has consistently maintained a double-digit lead over his competitors in most surveys leading up to the primaries.

Following Vivek Ramaswamy's withdrawal from the Iowa caucuses, a recent poll conducted by the American Research Group revealed that Nikki Haley and Donald Trump are in a dead heat, both polling at 40%.

Political analysts emphasize that the outcome in New Hampshire cannot be accurately predicted based on the results in Iowa. Chris Galdieri, a political science professor at St. Anselm College, remarked, "If there is a state where someone other than Trump is likely to perform well, it's probably going to be here. Therefore, New Hampshire becomes a make-or-break state for both Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis."

The New Hampshire primary is scheduled for January 23rd. However, Nikki Haley announced on Tuesday that she would not participate in the upcoming ABC News Republican debate unless President Trump is also present. Notably, Trump has yet to attend any televised debates this election season.
