Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson Suspends 2024 Presidential Campaign
Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson has announced the suspension of his long-shot presidential campaign for 2024 after finishing last in the Iowa caucuses.
Hutchinson, who has been a consistent critic of former President Donald Trump, congratulated Trump on his victory in Iowa and acknowledged the support received by other candidates in a statement released on Tuesday morning.

Despite announcing his candidacy early in the 2024 campaign, Hutchinson struggled to gain support from Republican voters, consistently polling in the low single digits.
In addition, Hutchinson faced challenges in meeting the increasingly higher thresholds set by the Republican National Committee to participate in the GOP presidential debates.
Hutchinson, a former representative of Arkansas 3rd District in Congress, stood out among Republicans by distancing himself from Trump. He criticized his GOP opponents for discussing the possibility of pardoning the ex-president if he is found guilty in either of the two federal criminal cases set for trial next year.
