The timing of the results for past Iowa caucuses has been known to vary significantly.

In the year 2020, technical difficulties led to a delay in the release of full votes in the Democratic caucuses. The results were not available for multiple days.

In 2016, the caucuses were called for the Republican candidates before midnight, while the results for the Democratic caucuses were announced around midday the following day.
