Fire Breaks Out at Beyoncé's Childhood Home in Houston
The childhood home of Beyoncé in Houston, Texas, caught fire early in the morning on Christmas day, according to authorities.
The current occupants of the house were not present when fire officials arrived to extinguish the blaze, and no injuries were reported, as confirmed by CBS affiliate KHOU.
Houston Fire Department District Chief Justin Barnes stated that the family had already safely evacuated the premises before the arrival of the fire crews. Upon arrival, firefighters found the two-story brick home fully engulfed in flames, with the fire originating on the second floor, as reported by KHOU 11.
The fire was reported at approximately 2 a.m. on Monday, and the Houston Fire Department responded to the scene within three to five minutes. Chief Barnes informed the press that the fire was successfully contained within 10 minutes.
In 1982, Beyoncé Knowles' family purchased the home located on the 2400 block of Rosedale. The Grammy-winning artist resided there until the age of 5. During a visit to her hometown for her Renaissance world tour, Beyoncé was seen taking photographs of the property.
The house, situated in the historic Riverside Terrace neighborhood, was constructed in 1946.
