Tragic Fire in Bullhead City
Tragedy struck in Bullhead City, Arizona, as five children lost their lives in a devastating fire that engulfed their two-story duplex on Saturday evening. The children, aged 13, 5, 4, 2, and 11, were all in the same upstairs bedroom when the fire broke out. Sadly, they were unable to escape due to the flames blocking their only exit, the staircase inside the home.
The father of four of the children had left them alone to go out Christmas and grocery shopping. The 11-year-old boy who perished was a relative visiting the family. All five children were grandchildren of a local fire department employee, adding to the heartbreak of the community.
Neighbors attempted to rescue the children but were unable to enter the burning building. Firefighters arrived at the scene just four minutes after the fire was reported, but it was too late to save the young lives.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is still ongoing, but initial findings suggest that it started in the downstairs foyer, preventing the children upstairs from escaping. The authorities have not released the identities of the victims, pending official identification by the Mohave County Medical Examiner's Office.
