Man's Body Found in Car at Jack in the Box

WHITE SETTLEMENT – A man's body was discovered over the weekend inside a vehicle parked at a Jack in the Box along I-30 in White Settlement. The location where the body was found is almost 40 miles away from the area where authorities believe the man was hit by the car.

The victim, a 45-year-old man believed to be homeless, was known to frequent the area near I-30 in Cockrell Hill Road in Dallas County. On Saturday, deputies found evidence of a crash and human remains in that area, which they believe belong to the victim.

White Settlement police received a 911 call and subsequently found the rest of the man's body. The call was made by a woman who had just gone through the drive-thru at the Jack in the Box.

"I'm at the Jack in the Box," the woman said during the call. "I just came through in the drive-thru. And there was a guy in the car. It looks like he's been in a car wreck. He's just slumped over in the seat and I just wanted to make sure he's okay."

Upon arrival, officers discovered a gray Kia with significant front-end damage in the parking lot. Nestor Lujan Flores was found slumped in the driver's seat, while a body was found in the passenger seat behind a large hole in the windshield.

Man Arrested for Intoxication Manslaughter After Hit-and-Run Incident

Authorities have arrested a man on charges of intoxication manslaughter after a hit-and-run incident in Dallas County. Police believe the suspect, identified as Flores, struck the victim at the crash scene and then drove for 38 miles with the victim in the passenger seat. The suspect's car eventually broke down, leading to his arrest.

White Settlement Police Chief Chris Cook stated, "There was a pool of radiator fluid. The car's got extensive damage. And so our belief is the car would not start back up."

Police are awaiting the results of a blood alcohol test, which they expect will show that Flores was under the influence at the time of the incident.

This is not the first time Flores has faced charges related to alcohol. Authorities reported that when Flores was apprehended, the officer noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from him.

According to police, Flores initially claimed that he thought he had hit a deer.

According to reports, a man is suspected to have driven from his residence in Arlington to the Dallas area at approximately 6 p.m. The crash is believed to have occurred in Dallas County between 8 p.m. and 8:40 p.m. However, the discovery of the incident in White Settlement did not occur until 11:15 p.m.
