Boston Brothel Investigation Update

New charges may be filed in connection with the high-end brothel investigation in the Boston area.

The U.S. Attorney's Office has announced that a Homeland Security Investigations Task Force Officer, who is part of the Cambridge Police Department, has submitted applications for complaints against 28 sex buyers with the Cambridge District Court.

No information about the alleged buyers has been released yet. Acting U.S. Attorney Joshua Levy stated that their names will only be made public if a court hearing determines there is probable cause.

"If probable cause is established and criminal charges are issued by the Court, referrals will then be made to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office," said Levy in a statement on Monday.

Three individuals have already been charged in connection with operating a series of brothels in the Boston area and northern Virginia. Junmyung Lee of Dedham, Han Lee of Cambridge, and James Lee of Torrance, California are facing charges of conspiracy to coerce and entice individuals to travel for illegal sexual activities.

Last month, Levy revealed that the clientele of the brothels included professionals from various fields such as doctors, lawyers, military officers, professors, and executives at high-tech companies. "Pick a profession, they're probably represented in this case," Levy said.

Investigators Crack Down on Illicit Massage Parlors

A recent investigation has revealed that clients of certain massage parlors were required to provide personal information before being able to book appointments. This information included their name, work details, email address, phone number, and a reference.

Authorities are taking this matter seriously, and are working closely with Virginia officials to initiate the process of referring individuals who have engaged in illegal activities at these establishments.
