Man Arrested for Stabbing Wife Over Pancakes
An elderly man in Washington, D.C. has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his wife to death after refusing to eat the pancakes she made, according to federal prosecutors.
The accused, identified as Steven Schwartz, 85, fatally stabbed his wife, Sharron Schwartz, 81, at their home on Sunday, as stated by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia.
Authorities reported that Schwartz did not want to eat the pancakes his wife made, which led to the stabbing incident.
Police responded to the incident at a home in Northwest D.C. Both individuals were taken to local hospitals for treatment, but Sharron Schwartz unfortunately passed away.
Steven Schwartz has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder while armed, as confirmed by the police.
During a court appearance via video on Thursday, Schwartz pleaded not guilty. The judge, however, found probable cause for the murder and ordered him to be held without bond.
The next hearing for Steven Schwartz is scheduled for January 2nd.
