Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has been suspended indefinitely by the NBA after striking Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic during Tuesday night's game. The league's Executive Vice President and Head of Basketball Operations, Joe Dumars, announced the suspension less than 24 hours after the incident.
The suspension takes into account Green's repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts, according to a statement by the league. Green was given a flagrant 2 foul and was ejected from the game after striking Nurkic in the face during the third quarter. The Warriors ultimately lost the game 119-116.
This suspension comes just weeks after Green put Rudy Gobert of the Minnesota Timberwolves in a headlock during an altercation in November, resulting in a five-game suspension for Green. The NBA stated that Green will have to meet certain league and team conditions before he can return to play.
Throughout his NBA career, Green has been ejected from a total of 18 games, which is the highest among active players. The Warriors, currently with a record of 10-13, will play their next game on the road against the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night.
