Burnham Family Seeks Donations for Tornado Victims

The Burnham family is grieving the loss of 10-year-old Arlan Garrick Coty, who tragically passed away during a tornado that swept through Tennessee on Saturday. In the wake of this devastating event, the family has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and clothing donations.

Katherine Burnham, Arlan's mother, expressed her desire to share the clothing donations with others in need. She wants to ensure that the generosity of the community benefits as many people as possible.

Arlan, a fourth grader, was among the victims of the severe storms that tore through central Tennessee. Tragically, he was unable to escape his house, which was directly in the path of the destructive tornado.

Katherine Burnham took to Facebook on Monday to share her heartbreak and express her gratitude for the support she and her husband have received.

"We don't know how to navigate through this," Burnham wrote. "We have no idea what is next. Anyone who knows me at all knows how much I love and adore my kids, all kids really. I cannot put into words how absolutely devastated I am."

Despite their own immense grief, the Burnham family is determined to help others affected by the tornado. They hope that their story will inspire further acts of kindness and support within the community.

Recreated News

Burham's house was destroyed in a tragic incident, but she is grateful for the support she has received. An "entire army of people" has been helping them search through the rubble to find their belongings, including drawings made by Arlan in kindergarten. One of the drawings showed his desire to learn how to cook with his mom, and Burnham told CBS News that they were able to do that together.

In addition to the physical help, their friends have been providing them with food and helping them with laundry. One friend even created a GoFundMe page for the family, which has raised over $184,000, surpassing the initial goal of $5,000.

However, Burham wants donors to start focusing on other families in need. She stated, "We no longer need clothes and want those donations to go to other families in need. There are so many displaced families in similar situations, my heart is broken but there is enough love and support to go around."

Burnham believes that her son, Arlan, was special and has touched many lives. She may not have imagined this tragedy, but she is amazed by the outpouring of love and support from people around the world. She said, "My baby is leaving an entire legacy behind."

The Clarksville Police Department has identified Arlan as one of the victims, along with 59-year-old Donna Allen from Florida and 34-year-old Stephen Kwaah Hayes from Clarksville.
