Cardi B Confirms Breakup with Offset
Cardi B announced on Instagram Live on Monday that she is now single, confirming the rumors that her relationship with rapper Offset has come to an end.
The couple has split publicly multiple times in the past, but they have always managed to reconcile. However, this time it seems that their breakup is final.
In the live video, the Grammy-award winning rapper said, "I've been single for a minute now, but I have been afraid to like... not afraid... I just don't know how to tell the world."
Fans noticed that Cardi B and Offset had unfollowed each other's Instagram accounts in the last week, which further fueled speculation about their relationship status.
In a previous live video, Cardi B hinted at her new relationship status, saying, "You gotta rid of dead weight, and when it comes to dead weight ... I'll say mentality, procrastination, laziness and people. A lot of people are dead weight, too."
Cardi B also posted an Instagram story with text that read, "You know when you just outgrow relationships," and in another story, she wrote, "I'm tired of protecting people's feelings... I GOTTA PUT MYSELF FIRST."
Cardi B and Offset started dating in early 2017 and got married in September of the same year.
Cardi B and Offset's Relationship Timeline
In late 2018, several months after the birth of their daughter, Cardi B announced that the two had decided to part ways. However, in mid-2019, they reconciled and gave their relationship another chance. Unfortunately, the reconciliation was short-lived as Cardi B filed for divorce from Offset in 2020. However, just weeks later, she withdrew the filing, indicating that they were once again working on their relationship.
Since then, Cardi B and Offset have welcomed a second child, showing that they are committed to their family and willing to work through their differences.
